klub retro tries its hand at football jerseys

When asked if I could produce some football jerseys for my football team I thought sure why not. I've always been a fan of early 80s jerseys and wanted to try my hand in replocating this look for my fortunate football team.

I'm still in the early stages of the design. The fabric has been chosen and the general print layout of the jersey has been decided upon. Next step is to get a sample made which will be completed this coming Thursday. Very excited about seeing the end result of these jerseys, thinking these will turn out very nicely and will be great to see klub retro entering the world of jersey production.

Will keep you posted on the final result

a new home for klub retro

Searching for a shop premise is not as easy as it may sound, assuming you think it sounds easy of course. But there is a severe lack of quality sites and reasonable prices here in Brisbane. After a failed attempt to open a store a year ago in the TCB centre in Fortitude Valley it is time again for klub retro to spread its wings and fly as it were.

This time we have a site on Grey St in Southbank in our sites. However, I am told these things always take time and 8 months after initial negotitions took place I for once am beginning to get somewhat frustrated. What is it with real estate agents and their higher power? are they paid in order to fuck you around? some times it sure feels like it.

Anyway, we are staying strong and all being well we will see klub retro open its first flagship store here in Brisbane this year sometime.

What will this mean to the klub retro consumer? well it'll mean you'll be able to look like you walked straight out of Back to the Future instantly as well as having our full range of clothing available for purchase at your fingertips. We will also be stocking other old skool labels of sorts and we will definately be the number 1 shop in Brisbane for all things retro / vintage.....watch this space.

I hate Jay Jays

I really hate it when big chain stores cash in on certain fashions. Who's the latest to do this you ask? yes that's right...Jay Jay's. Who are they you might be asking if you do not reside in the land downunder. Jay Jay's are a cheap ass so called fashion store that sell the run of the mill everyday crap, however of late they have decided to cash in on the retro/vintage wear that has become so popular of recent years.

Why does this make me so angry you might ask? well for a store that's never stocked anything other than no name brand clothing since forever to now stock retro tees is clearly just these guys cashing in on the retro clothing market and prostituting the name of retro. How does this affect the retro clothing market as a whole? well because Jay Jay's sell their range so cheap and nasty it brings the whole retro clothing industry down a notch.

I for one have never shopped at Jay Jay's in my life however because these guys sell their stuff so cheap people seem to flock in there. What I say to these people is shop there if you must but avoid the cheap retro tees. If you need to buy retro but quality retro and do not prostitute the name of retro, thanks for your time.
